Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire Watch: Nov 23, 2013

Tyler Ennis - LW - BUF - It's always wise to exercise caution before adding a member of the Buffalo Sabres, but Ennis has been ripping it up lately. His month long slumber to start the season has ended, and he's back to his expected 50-60 point pace with 6 points in his last 8 games played.

Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire Watch, Friday Oct 25, 2013

Waiver Wire Pickups

Ray Whitney - DAL - LW - (11% owned in Yahoo) - 6 points in 9 GP - It boggles the mind that a guy who was on pace for 75 points last year is on only 11% of fantasy rosters. He's going to get you at least 50 points, and has a realistic shot at doing much, much better than that. Get over the age thing, he's still a great player.

Another Collection of Fantasy Hockey Darkhorse/Sleeper Picks for 2013-2014

Everybody loves sleeper picks (myself included), so here's yet another selection:

Jhonas Enroth - G - BUF - It's almost guaranteed that Ryan Miller gets traded out of Buffalo this season as the franchise looks to begin a gruelling rebuild. If the team transitions into tank mode, they'll probably turn to Enroth before deciding to sign or trade for a veteran netminder. Enroth looked solid last season in his spot starts in the Buffalo crease. You might not want to draft Enroth, but be ready to pounce on him the free agent market the moment Miller rumours start to surface. If the Sabres are out of the playoff picture early, the Miller trade could happen well before the deadline.

Even More Fantasy Hockey Sleeper Picks for 2013-2014

It's fantasy hockey draft season once again and GM's are making their lists and checking it twice. Here are some late round gifts for your fantasy hockey team.

Brandon Pirri - C - CHI - Even though Chicago is known to have great depth throughout their lineup, they're shockingly thin down the middle. Pirri is known for his playmaking skills and could snag you a surprising 40-50 points this season on the Blackhawks' second line.

More Fantasy Hockey Sleeper Picks for 2013-2014

I thought I'd throw out a few more darkhorse fantasy hockey picks before the 2013-2014 NHL season starts.

I know what you're thinking: "My draft isn't that deep; I doubt I would ever select one of these guys," but it's important to know who the sleepers are anyways. You won't necessarily think to draft these players, but if they get off to good starts this 2013-2014 NHL season, you'll want to pounce quickly. If you didn't even know who they were, then you'd likely discard or gloss over their productivity.

Yahoo Fantasy Hockey Sleeper Picks 2013-2014: Who's ranked too low? Too high?

Building upon Goods Fantasy Hockey's interesting article on Yahoo fantasy hockey rankings, I thought I'd chime in with some of my own selection of players I deem ranked too low or too high. I agree with all of Goods' selections, so I'll simply add my own additions to the list here.

Too Low

Logan Couture - LW - Ranked 81 - Isn't it time Couture got some respect as a fantasy hockey stud? Every year the guy comes out and gets close to 30 goals, and should be counted on as a perennial 65-75 point guy on a solid San Jose roster. It boggles the mind that he finds himself lower on the list than guys like Ryan Kesler, Derek Stepan and Brad Richards.

Fantasy Hockey Rankings Update: Top 50 Defensemen 2013-2014

September 16th: A little late to post this up, but a few days ago I updated my top 50 defensemen list. For the most part you will notice tinkering here and there but no dramatic shifts. Once the season gets going expect to see significant moves in the rankings.

Head over to the top 50 NHL defensemen in fantasy hockey rankings.

The Best Goalies in Fantasy Hockey 2013-2014: Six to Ten

Continuing on from my top five NHL goalies for the 2013-2014 season, here are the next best five:

6. Pekka Rinne - Nashville Predators
Most lists have Rinne ranked higher, but he plays for a weak team and didn't have a strong 2013 season. He should bounce back in a strong way, but the wins might not be at the level you should look for in a top five goalie selection.

Fantasy Hockey Sleeper Picks 2013-2014: Goalies

It's the most important position in fantasy hockey, and it's also the most volatile. So while you won't be taking any of these guys as your first or second goaltender, it's important to have a feel for who else is out there. Just in case, you know, something doesn't pan out. After Sergei Bobrovsky tore the goaltending scene apart last season, all fantasy hockey fans must learn to prepare for the unexpected.

Fantasy Hockey Sleepers To Keep An Eye On In 2013-2014

In this guest post give their take on fantasy hockey sleepers for the upcoming NHL season.

All the talk at this time of the year revolves around fantasy football, but fantasy hockey owners are already looking forward to a full season of action in 2013-2014. With a full preseason schedule to take advantage of, several players could be prepared for a jump in production. Here is a look at three fantasy hockey sleepers who could put it all together this season.
